Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Mary-Jane's Almanac (“we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what we need to prepare and deliver your Readings, we never sell your birth data, and you can reach us anytime at support@maryjanesalmanac.com.
1. What we collect
Information you give us: your name, email address, birth date, birth time, birth place, home address or house number (if you share it), the questions you submit, and — if you opt in to text updates — your phone number.
Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Technical basics:like most websites, our hosting provider processes standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) to keep the Service running and secure. Some preferences (such as your reading profile) may be stored in your own browser’s local storage.
2. How we use it
We use your information to: prepare and deliver your Readings and answers; send you the communications you requested (order confirmations, your written answers, daily letters for members, and opt-in text notifications); process payments; respond to support requests; and operate, secure, and improve the Service. Readings may be prepared with the assistance of automated and AI-based tools that process the details you provide solely to generate your Reading.
3. What we never do
We never sell your birth data or your questions. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone, and we do not share the content of your questions or Readings except as needed to operate the Service (Section 4) or as required by law.
4. Service providers
We share data only with the processors that make the Service work, and only for that purpose: Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Twilio (opt-in text messages), Vercel (hosting), and AI infrastructure providers used to help compose Readings. Each processes your data under its own security and privacy obligations.
5. Text messages
Text updates are strictly opt-in and are never a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help.
6. Retention
We keep order records and correspondence for as long as needed to provide the Service and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. You may request deletion of your personal information at any time (Section 7).
7. Your choices and rights
You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing support@maryjanesalmanac.com. You can unsubscribe from emails via the link in any email, and from texts by replying STOP. Depending on where you live (for example, California or the EU/UK), you may have additional rights under local law; we honor verified requests consistent with those laws.
8. Children
The Service is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we will delete it.
9. Security
We use reputable providers and industry-standard safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the effective date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
